Abstract
This island was created as a result of a volcanic eruption which started on October 31st, 1911 when fishermen first noticed bubbles rising from the water and this continued until on November 3rd, 1911 a small island emerged. The island became known as Wilkey's Land after Sergeant Wilkey who went to investigate the phenomenon thus becoming the first person to set foot on the island. Affixed to the back of the postcard is a Trinidad and Tobago 1 penny stamp.
