Abstract
This is a photograph of the pier at Brighton, La Brea, from the pier. One can see the full configuration of the pier with its fenced platform extending from the shore into the sea, little fenced bridges and single story buildings off the main platform. Also visible to the left is an aerial tramway used to transport asphalt, bound for export, to ships docked here. On the shore are many long, low buildings. There appears to be a forest behind them.
