| dc.description.abstract | This is an early photograph of War Memorial Park which was taken from one of the surrounding streets. Two trees in the foreground cast shadows on the sidewalk. The Park’s simple wrought iron and concrete fence stretches along the width of the photograph, the War Memorial monument stands majestic in mid-ground. Mountains and palms among other trees are in the background. The War Memorial was placed here, 28 June 1924, in honour of Trinidad and Tobago nationals who served and died in World Wars I and II, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. | en |
