2. Puerto Rico has suspended loans under the 936 Programme for projects exceeding five million dollars. The Ways and Means Sub-committee in Washington approved President Clinton’s plan to scale down the Programme. The matter has to be heard by the U.S. Senate. Patterson announced an aid package of 250 million dollars to the affected areas.
