dc.description.abstract | The postcard shows an image of a bandstand overlooking the sea. There are benches and a lamp which suggest that the area was used for outdoor entertainment. This area was owned by the War Department. It was purchased by the government in December 1905 and opened to the general public. The site is located in Hastings, Christ Church on the South coast of the island. | en_US |
