Abstract
Description at back of card: “School boys jogging through the Memorial Park, Port of Spain.”
This photograph shows us five boys in white games uniform, with their teacher, jogging through War Memorial Park, known informally as Memorial Park. The impressive war monument here was installed in honour of Trinidad and Tobago nationals, who served and died in World Wars from 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. Tall trees with vivid green foliage surround the monument and a wooden and wrought iron bench awaits the tired. This photograph may have been taken in the ‘dry season’ as all the grassy areas are mostly earth. There are buildings in the background.
