Abstract
Steelbandsmen, representing bands throughout Trinidad and Tobago, were pleased with the National Consultation and had new hope for the progressive development of the country's unique art form. Panmen met with Prime Minister Dr. Eric Williams and his Cabinet and Dr. Williams set a date for the Tripartite Committee on Sponsorship, to discuss the issue of sponsorship for steelbands. Reports of three committees, music training, employment opportunities and standardization were accepted at the Consultation.
