Exterior view of the Police Barracks building, Port of Spain, Trinidad - St. Vincent Street on the left and Sackville Street on the right. The Red House, which lies opposite to the Police Barracks, was set on fire by protesters in 1903 with the wooden roof and floors being badly burnt. They were replaced and the Red House reopened about the time that this photograph was taken. Visible, at bottom left, is a large pile of ash and some lumber which may have been remnants of the fire and restoration.en
