The article outlines the background of Winston 'Spree" Simon. Simon refuses to use a wheelchair and is learning to kick around his foot which was paralyzed by a stroke. Soon he will be able to move about without the use of a walking stick which speaks to the quality of the man, the pan pioneer honoured for making a great contribution to the development of the steelpan.
