Abstract
Government House, now known as State House, is a significant historical building in Barbados. Constructed in 1702 during the colonial era, it originally served as a Quaker plantation house. Later, it was acquired by the British imperial government to replace the Bagatelle Great House in St. Thomas as the official residence of the Governor of Barbados. By the early 1900s, Government House functioned as the residence of the colonial governor. With the country's transition to a republic on November 30, 2021, it was renamed State House and now serves as the official residence of the President of Barbados. This is a divided back postcard.
