Abstract

Description at back of card: This unique lake of pitch has been supplying asphalt for over 200 years. The level of the lake has dropped only 27 feet in all that time. Scientists estimate that at the current rate of use, it will last another 400 years. The Pitch Lake is located at Brighton, La Brea off the south west coast of Trinidad. Postcard number P77554.
