Abstract

This black and white postcard could have been titled “A drive through the sugarcane”. Puffy white clouds hover above the mountains of the Northern Range which are stretched along the entire horizon. An early twentieth century, black automobile traverses the Southern Main Road and is situated almost at midpoint of the photograph. Both sides of the straight, plane, pitched road are flanked with mature sugarcane.
