dc.description.abstractLabourers havesting bunches of bananas from a field. Description on the back of the postcard reads "The S.S. "Grosser Kurfuerst" partly visited the famous Pitch Lake at La Brea. The banana plantations are exciting much interest." The postcard is addressed to George S. Stirl, Reading, PA. Affixed to the postcard is a US 1 cent stamp, postmarked March 10th, 1913.en
