Description at back: “This active bustling freak of nature is a source of amazement to young and old alike.” This photograph which was taken circa 1960s to 1990s features a man wearing a red shirt stooping investigating one of the mud volcanoes cones, at the centre of the photograph. From foreground to the horizon are covered in mud, cracked mud and about five mud volcano cones. A mass of verdant leafy trees are spread across the background and stand against a bright blue sky full with white puffy clouds. The phrase "mud-volcano" commonly applies to a relatively violent eruption or surfaces extrusion of watery mud or clay which is almost always accompanied by methane gas, and which generally tends to build up a solid mud or clay deposit around its orifice which may have a conical or volcano-like shape.
