Abstract
This article recounts the history of steelpan arranger, pioneer, innovator and musical genius Tony "Muffman" Williams. William's 'Fourths and Fifths" arrangement of notes has become the standard design on most steel pans and he created the modern steelband ensemble by putting pans on wheels.
