dc.description.abstract | Electricity lines and coconut palms seem to extend to infinity on either side of the road to San Juan, Trinidad, British West Indies. A few of the palms at right are almost headless, perhaps due to disease. The palms on the left are hemmed in by a simple, concrete-posted, wire, fence. A man dressed in Indian wear popular for this era: a dhoti or pair of shorts; a kurta or long sleeved shirt and a head tie, with a stick in his right hand, walks down the centre of the road. There is another person walking in the road in the background. | en |
