Delegates of the African Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP), in Fiji, are to begin their first day of discussions on future joint trade negotiations with the European Union (EU) in September. The European mandate which has been set out, has not been favourable with the ACP, thus a low turnout by the ACP delegates. The Eastern Caribbean Ambassador to Brussels, Edwin Laurent, is of the opinion that this will undermine the negotiations. (00:28-03:36).en_US

The Ombudsman Office will be serviced by the lawyers and workers who will do investigative work, where necessary with the electoral office for the elections, soon to be announced. It was part of an effort by the Nottingham Police to crack down on drug-related crime. Alan Butler, superintendent of the Police Force, spoke with Rosie Hayes about the criminal influences in the city. These influences are taking over the drug markets with measures of extreme violence. Sir John Stevens, Commissioner of London Metropolitan Police, is in Jamaica to unveil plans to help both Britain and Jamaica, some of which will be creating anti-corruption strategies. dc.description.tableofcontents5. The President of the Dominican Republic, Hipolito Mejia has paid tribute to former President Joaquim Balaguer. His funeral takes place in Santo Domingo. Correspondent Jean Louis Carwah said there were few people in attendance, such as the elderly who refer to Balaguer as their father. It is expected that there will be a greater turnout later in the afternoon, at the cemetery for the burial. (11:17-13:00).en_US
