Delegates of the African Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP), in Fiji, are to begin their first day of discussions on future joint trade negotiations with the European Union (EU) in September. The European mandate which has been set out, has not been favourable with the ACP, thus a low turnout by the ACP delegates. It was part of an effort by the Nottingham Police to crack down on drug-related crime. Alan Butler, superintendent of the Police Force, spoke with Rosie Hayes about the criminal influences in the city. These influences are taking over the drug markets with measures of extreme violence. Sir John Stevens, Commissioner of London Metropolitan Police, is in Jamaica to unveil plans to help both Britain and Jamaica, some of which will be creating anti-corruption strategies.
