1. Headlines with anchor Ken Richards (00:00-00:34)
2. Grenadians are voting today to elect a new government. Dr. Keith Mitchell is hoping that his New National Party will be given the mandate to remain in office having been forced into an early poll after losing the narrow majority of seats (8/7) held in parliament. The Organisation of American States monitoring group of eight persons will visit the 206 polling stations. There have been no complaints of vote rigging. Other parties contesting the election are the National Democratic Congress and the Grenada United Labor Party. All parties are confident of forming the next government. Lew Smith reports (00:35 - 04:05)
3. Brian Lara and the West Indies cricket team suffered a five series defeat (white wash) in South Africa. Reporter Emma Joseph provides a chronological summary of West Indies cricket commencing with the West Indies cricket team reigning supreme during the 1970s and winning the 1975 World Cup, through the golden era (1980s and 1990s) with talented cricketers such as Gary Sobers, Clive Lloyd, Alvin Kallicaharran, Desmond Haynes, Vivian Richards, Joel Garner, Malcolm Marshall and Brian Lara. Michael Holding and Colin Croft comments on signs of early decline with cricket match losses in 1995 (Australia vs. West Indies) and in 1997 (Pakistan vs. West Indies). Ken Richards interviews a three member panel (Hugh Croskill, Michael Holding, Neil Mantock) and regional sports editors to examine the reasons behind this historic defeat in South Africa and to identify strategies to improve the team’s performance in the future. (04:06 - 15:30)
