dc.description.abstractOnly six months after the West Side Symphony Orchestra was formed it won the first ever steelband festival in July 1964. The St. James band received sponsorship from British West Indian Airways (BWIA) and consequently change its name to BWIA Sunjets Steelband. The bands various accomplishments and overseas tours are mentioned.en_US
