dc.description.abstractThis article reflects on the value of critical thinking instruction for education in the Caribbean, but warns about the need for careful reflection and inquiry on why and how it should be included in the curriculum. It also argues that in adopting critical thinking instruction, educators in the Caribbean must also consider the use of students' existing cultural capital to scaffold the process by which they develop skills and strategies in critical thinkingen_US
