dc.description.abstractIn this article lies a very intriguing view on the direction of the steelpan when faced with the development of non-metallic containers to package petroleum products. The two alternatives being to manufacture and sculpt by the traditional method of preparation and tuning or manufacture electronic masters and stereotypes and press them out in mass. Mass produced pan would destroy the value of originality but there would be standarisation of pan instruments and the furtherance of the art.en_US
