dc.description.abstract | A regional conference on tourism and crime opened in St. Lucia - Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) meeting brings together tourism and police officials from across the region. Jean Holder, Secretary General of the CTO - Yvette Rowe reports. In Haiti a call by supporters of ousted President Jean Bertrand Aristide for a general strike in support of Aristide, was largely ignored. A small flotilla of private yachts arrived in Cuba with medical supplies and food donated by Americans and Cuban American exiles. All over Britain conferences were held demanding an end to the US embargo of Cuba , the Cuba solidarity campaign held its annual general meeting in London and was attended by Scottish MPs. | en_US |
