dc.description.abstractIn the late 1820s, the Governor of Trinidad, Sir Ralph Woodford, established the Botanic Gardens and he contracted the botanist David Lockhart to design the gardens. Many of the trees in the Gardens were brought from the Far East. The postcard is addressed to Gwen Williams of Yorkshire, England and affixed to card is a penny postage stamp.en
