Abstract

This is a photograph depicting the typical countryside Trinidad, B.W.I. in 1948, with the Northern Range as the backdrop. There are at least seven people in the photograph at mid-ground and four of them are wearing hats and light coloured, long sleeved shirts which was typical apparel for this era. Also at mid-ground is a building which could be a house and a number of trees. The trees at the right are coconut palms most of which are mature but there are a few younger ones near the road that appear as a mass of leaves resemble huge feathers. The unpitched, dirt road in the foreground is higher than the surrounding land, possibly to allow it to be properly drained after rainfall.
