The article argues that steelbands should reclaim their Carnival heritage in Jouvert and in doing so reclaim the beach head of the Festival itself as a prelude for a launch into the mas. It is noted that pan on the road on Carnival days is an expensive business but this is the main reason there are sponsored steelbands in the mas.en_US
