dc.description.abstractAt the Steelband Awards Ceremony, Prime Minister Basdeo Panday stated that the government is reviewing the whole question of music education with respect to music literacy and the process of development of pan technology. Special tribute was paid to steelpan pioneers and commemorative plaques were awarded. The names of persons honoured for their contribution to the development of the steelpan and its music are mentioned.en_US
