dc.description.abstract | This multiple view cards postcard displays three views of Trinidad. In the view at top left, two men are taking a ride in a donkey cart, a popular form of transport in Trinidad at the late 19th to 20th century. A man dressed in suit and hat looks on from the pavement. The view on the right is of a coconut estate. The view at bottom left is of Sackville Street, Port of Spain, showing from left to right, a two story building - old-style architecture, mainly wooden; the Red House, at center and on the corners of Sackville and St. Vincent Streets, Police Headquarters with two palm trees marking the entrance. A few people, most of them wearing hats and white garments, are walking in the streets and on the pavements. | en |
