Title: West Indian volcanic eruptions and the hazard to human populations

Abstract: This paper describes the types of volcanic activity which represents a hazard to human populations in the West Indies. Particular attention is paid to the most dangerous type of activity; the pyroclast flow. Alternative called the glowing avalanche or nuee ardente eruption. Attention wil be paid to the signs connected to this type of eruption and destructive damage resulting from it.
