Abstract

This photograph describes a typical day in the lives of the folks who inhabit this little town. The people conduct their business up and down the quiet street. The men wear suits and hats while the women wear long dresses. Two little girls at the centre of the road wear three quarter length dresses and hats. All this activity is set against a backdrop of coconut palms, other trees and a chain of buildings, one of which appears to be a general store with a sign above the doorway. The buildings on the left have shed roofs. There are two large horse-less carts, parked outside them, loaded with crates and barrels. A man pushes another type of cart at the bottom right of the photograph.
