2. Cuban nuclear scientists have warned that the nuclear power stations being built in on the island can cause a major disaster in the Caribbean. Garvin Esler’s report from Washington includes comments from defected Cuban scientists and the first official US reaction which questions the construction materials being used to build the reactors and not the design of the plants (00:41-05:14)
3. The Washington-based Lawyers Committee for Human Rights has condemned the Dominican Republic for alleged complicity in the trafficking in Haitian children and forced labour in Dominican sugar-cane fields. William O’Neil, Deputy Director of the LCHR is interviewed by Pat Whitehorne (05:15-08:58)
4. The British Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Tristan Garel-Jones, returns to London from a trip to El Salvador, Guatemala and Belize.
