Marshall: Need to Standardize the Steelpan

Abstract

One of the oldest and best tuners in Trinidad, Bertie Marshall or "Father Harmonics" as he is called in the steelband world, describes the state of the steelpan art. Marshall, an innovator in the art of tuning pan, states one of the main obstacle in the path of the steelband is the failure to standardize and calls for consistency in the metal and consistency in the manufacturing of the steelpan.
