Abstract
This letter to the editor is Pan Trinbago's response to comments made by the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Marilyn Gordon who stated that it was not time for 'ole talk and gamboge' and the steelband movement should make up their minds how the money that government was ploughing into the movement, was to be spent. Pan Trinbago argued that they have effectively demonstrated self-reliance by having a building fund of $150,000 for the National Steelband Headquarters and $400,000 to back the call for a national pan factory. Other contributions to the society by Pan Trinbago are mentioned.
