3. Jamaica’s Foreign Minister, David Core, states that the path is now clear for free and fair elections in Guyana. His comments come in response to yesterday’s remarks by Neville Duncan, Political Analyst of Barbados, that Guyana was only able to secure electoral reform after a visit by Jimmy Carter which highlighted the failure of Caricom to assist with the reformation process in Guyana (04:07-06:03)

5. Fears of another elections bloodbath in Haiti as followers of the former Duvalier dictatorship forms a new political party. The Union for National Reconciliation is headed by Roger Lafontant who has continued to defy a warrant for his arrest.
