Item Cada Q in the eastern Caribbean, West Indies(Geophysical Journal International (1993) Volume 112, issue #3 pages 507-516, 2010-06-21T14:17:40Z) Ambeh, W.B.; Lynch, L.L.Coda Q, Qc, has been estimated from seismograms of local earthquakes recorded on short-period seismographs on some of the eastern Caribbean islands of the Lesser Antilles arc, West Indies, using the S-S single-scattering model. The region was subdivided into four distinct subregions in order to investigate lateral variations in Qc. the Qc values exhibit a strong frequency dependence in the frequency band 1.5 to 16 Hz, with calculated coda Q at 1 Hz, Q0, ranging from a minimum of 97 in the Dominica area to a maximum of 145 in the Leewards. The degree of frequency dependence is also largest in the Dominica area (n= 1.09) and smallest in the Leewards (n= 0.82). Although there appears to be some lateral and depth variation of both Q0 and n in the region, this variation does not seem to be very significant.Item Earthquakes and Volcanoes(2010-06-28T15:03:05Z) Seismic Research CentreThis publication focuses on earthquakes and volcanoes. The processes involved in their generation are reviewed and a number of precautionary measures which should be taken before, during and after an earthqquake are outlined. Some short notes on a number of large historical events are also itemised and a glossary of termss appended.Item A report on earthquake activity in the Antigua / Barbuda region July 1980 - October 1983(2010-09-26T16:45:50Z) Beckles, David M.; Shepherd, John B.This report responds to requests from government and regional agencies on erthquake activity in the Antigua/Barbuda region during the period; July 1980 - October 1983.Item Seismic intensity survey in Tobago for three felt events(2010-09-26T17:08:49Z) Rogers, Ingrid; Latchman, JoanThree earthquakes were felt in Tobago on May 24 1882. Subsequently, an intensity survey was conducted to assertain the extent of the damage that followed.
