    The university in the Caribbean in the late 20th century, 1980-1999

    This paper was prepared for a symposium on the role of the university in the late twentieth century, organized by the University of Liverpool. It examined the existing situation of Caribbean universities and university autonomy, and discussed the following issues: level of entry, brain drain, dissent, and Caribbean studies
