    Fifteen steelbands in central and south Trinidad will participate in the 17th Annual Hoyte's Bomb Competition. The winning band will receive a John Hoyte challenge trophy and a cash prize.     $2.4m To Build Pan Theatres

    $20,000 Lure to Bring Pans Out for Las' Lap

    Berger Paints Trinidad Limited announced plans to revive Las' Lap in Port-of-Spain with a steelband competition on Carnival Tuesday. Selwyn Drayton, Berger's General Manager stated that the company will be awarding a total of $20,000 in prizes for the best beating steelband, the best beating pan-round-the-neck band and the first band to reach the roundabout.

    21 Bands for Pan Festival

    Reigning National Steelband Panorama champions Exodus, is among 21 bands committed to performing at the street parade for this year’s Laventille Steelband Festival. The festival is an Emancipation community celebration, highlighting the African contribution to the development of pan. Apart from Exodus, ten- time National Panorama Champions WITCO Desperadoes, ten conventional steel orchestras, eight single-pan bands, a tamboo-bamboo group and the Laventille Rhythm Section will take part in the parade.

    45 Steelbands for Panorama Semis

    All Stars Back From Successful NY Tour

    All Stars Not Fifty Years Old

    In this article, the writer disputes claims made that Catelli All Stars is celebrating its 50th anniversary. In the Sunday Guardian, October 13, Prince Baston, steelband historian and former leader of All Stars, wrote that while the band really began orderly organised in 1946, it really started nine or ten years before, around 1937. It is suggested that the Ministry of Culture get the correct story as to the origin and progress of the steelband.

    All Stars Still Panorama Champions

The band comprises members of the National Secretaries Association and has evolved into a competent unit catering to small intimate gatherings and social functions.
