    Draft Strategic Plan 1995 - 2000

    The strategic plan was developed by the Faculty of Education, The University of the West Indies (UWI), to guide its development over the period 1995-2000, within the context of the university’s overall development plan. The plan, which is intended to provide overall focus, recognizes degrees of independence in the operations of the three campuses and the history of their responsibilities for different non-campus countries in the Caribbean, while seeking to provide important opportunities for collaboration and synchronization of action throughout the region. The plan is presented in tabular format. For each of the 11 main objectives, it shows associated strategies, policy issues, programmes, and effectiveness indicators, which are intended as guides to monitoring the plan. It also indicates estimated programme costs.

    Summary of Research Presentations on Educational Research

    The purpose of the project reported here was to sample the views of citizens of Trinidad and Tobago about the problems facing the education sector, and to use these views to inform the research agenda of the School of Education, UWI and the Ministry of Education.
