She obtained her medical degree from the University of Toronto and Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada in 1930. She did pioneering work in School Health Inspection with particular emphasis on the eradication of the hookworm disease. She was considered a leading figure in the successful attack on Yellow Fever in the two outbreaks in 1954 and 1979.
