In Dominica, over one hundred farmers marched through the streets of Roseau to protest the planned dissolution of the Dominica Banana Growers Association. Some experts believe that the EU policy towards the Caribbean is in a state of flux. Trinidad and Tobago's Foreign Minister Ralph Maraj comments on the need for continued preferential access for the Caribbean in Europe. In Haiti, there are renewed calls for President Aristide to stay in office beyond the date set to elect a successor. Stanley Schrager, spokesperson for the US Embassy comments on whether these calls could derail the electoral process.
