    Explainer is in, Arnim Smith is Back

    Explainer takes the place of Tobago Crusoe in the Calypso Monarch Finals, after Crusoe decided not to contest the competition this year. Arnim Smith is back as President of Pan Trinbago after he decided to withdraw his resignation from the presidency of the pan body. Also, the East Zone champions, American Stores Exodus will lead off the competition and the order of appearance of the other bands are mentioned.

    Panorama in Danger

    With only one day to go before the preliminaries, Panorama 1985 is hanging in the balance once more. Representatives of about 100 steelbands have decided to withdraw from the show unless the Minister of Sport, Culture and Youth Affairs, Marilyn Gordon met with them to resolve the issue of payments to officers of the pan movement and to decide on the 25 per cent increase in prize money.
