It notes that the Committee to examine the entire existing Family Services delivery system in Trinidad and Tobago was appointed by Cabinet on the 22nd April 1987 and held a series of meetings which not only examined the particular needs of the special Family Services areas represented by members but created for the most part, an environment for shared commitment, learning and support which are the necessary prerequisites of effective networking among Family Service Agencies at the national and community levels.Item Summary report of survey on drug use among the secondary school students in Trinidad and Tobago(1985-09-12) Remy, LionelThis survey attempted to assess the extent of substance abuse among the secondary school population and to describe the socio-demographic characteristics of substance-using students and the behaviours and the consequences associated with substance use. A two-stage sample design was used to select the participating students and the questionnaire was administered to 2,192 students from 20 schools. Results showed that alcohol is still the most widely used drug followed by cigarettes, marijuana, and cocaine—91.9 percent using alcohol, 45.7 percent cigarettes, 6.3 percent marijuana, and 1.1 percent cocaine. Males were more likely to use cigarettes, marijuana and cocaine, and females exceeded males in the use of alcohol.
