Rawle Gibbon, Director of the Creative Arts Centre, UWI St. Augustine, argued that Trinidadians are confused about what their culture really is because they have been looking at India and Africa for cultural identity. The panelists saw "pan" as an indigenous cultural reference which has mass appeal and which the country should continue to develop.
