    In this hotly worded letter to Pan Trinbago President Arnim Smith, in the wake of Pan Festival '86: Pan is Beautiful IV, there are congratulations on the successful staging of the event but it also broaches many vital issues that are of serious concern to steelbands in particular and the pan loving public. There is a list the problems encountered over the past years of the competition and calls for Pan Trinbago to clear the air.

    The article reviews the staging of "Pan Rising - Pan is Beautiful 4" Steelband Music Festival which was held by Pan Trinbago and associate sponsors - the Royal Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and Kirpalani's Ltd. While the festival displayed pan-musicianship at its very best, there was a great measure of dissatisfaction among steelbandsmen over the administration of Pan Trinbago. Pan Trinbago's president, Arnim Smith has been called to clear the air on the number of vital issues which are of serious concern to steelbands.
