Item The relationship between teacher characteristics and teacher perception of CXC Spanish(1987) Chaplin, Joan Elaine;This study examined teachers' characteristics and their perceptions of an innovation in relation to Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) Spanish, in order to determine the relationship, if any, of certain selected teacher characteristics to the opinions they held with regard to the innovation. Data were collected by means of questionnaires administered to all teachers of CXC Spanish in four school types. The findings suggested that the more experienced teachers found the examination more in keeping with their needs than their less experienced counterparts. It was also suggested that longer teaching experience and a school's experience with the examination were inter-related. The teachers seemed to believe that the examination was better than the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Spanish examination and was likely to meet existing needs, therefore they more or less accepted its difficulty
