    This document provides and overview of the most noteworthy points in the four themes that guided the presentations at the first Learning Community Researchers Meeting in 2006: 1) Child rearing and cultures(s); 2) Parenting: mothering and fathering; 3) Parenting and home learning; and 4) Parenting and social-emotional development. The final section summarizes the emergent issues from the priority-setting discussions to guide the way forward.
