Item A linear programming model of educational planning for Trinidad and Tobago, 1968-1975(1973) Alleyne, Garth O'Garvin; This study consists of an inter-temporal linear programming model of educational planning for Trinidad and Tobago, 1968-1975, which is based on the present-value method. It covers all levels of public education except technical education and university. The objective function of the model, which is disaggregated by gender, maximizes the net contribution of education to the discounted future national product subject to resource constraints. The model's results indicate that the education of male students should have priority over the education of female students. When optimally operated, it indicates a substantial level of total net benefits to education at all discount rates except 15 percent. The model's results are presented as an essential input in a comprehensive planning effort
