    UWI hosts forum on Coronavirus. The University of The West Indies today hosted a Vice Chancellor's Forum titled, “Demystifying the Coronavirus”. The regional university convened a group of experts to examine issues related to the recent Coronavirus outbreak originating in China. The panel discussion offered informed analysis and perspectives and sought to clarify information on the virus’ spread, treatment and the Caribbean region’s response.

    UWI Vice Chancellor predicts increase in enrolment post COVID-19. Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Professor Sir Hilary Beckles is predicting that there will be an increase in persons seeking higher education in the post COVID-19 period. Speaking during an online virtual forum, assessing the impact of COVID-19 on the future of the Caribbean University, he explained that there is a historical tendency for the demand for higher education to increase during an economic recession.
