The Organization of American States (OAS) has expressed its concern with developments in Guyana. OAS Assistant Secretary General Christopher Thomas comments on the situation and states the poll was a clean one. A team of eminent Caribbean statesmen prepares to travel to Guyana to help resolve the dispute. Meanwhile, travel advisories have been issued by the US and British governments and Guyana's High Commissioner to London, Lal Singh comments on these advisories. A proposal for a new code of ethics for regional journalists is discussed by a working group comprised of regional Attorney Generals. The EU is set to release details of proposed changes to its banana arrangement to make it WTO-compatible.
