In Bermuda, human rights groups have commended their efforts to get rid of the death penalty. Fears have increased among prisoners since the John Higgs’ inquest into how he acquired the tool used to end his own life. Michel Camdessus, the outgoing head of the IMF, said the organization should be given a bigger political clout and clearer responsibilities.
