Their attire seems inappropriate for such an outing but it was appropriate for the early 20th century. The lake looks muddy and wet with little puddles. At least one person is sheltering under an open umbrella and another appears to be having a closer look at the pitch. There are trees and a single story building on the horizon.enPlease contact the Main Library, The University of the West Indies for permission to use the digitized images. wimail@sta.uwi.eduTrinidad and TobagoPostcardsPitchAsphalt industry--Trinidad and TobagoCities and towns--Trinidad and Tobago--La BreaMen--Trinidad and TobagoWomen--Trinidad and Tobago[1909]Asphalt--Trinidad and TobagoClothing and dress--Trinidad and TobagoHats--Trinidad and TobagoUmbrellas--Trinidad and TobagoTourists--Trinidad and TobagoTourism--Trinidad and TobagoSightseeing business--Trinidad and TobagoPitch Lake, The (La Brea)The Pitch Lake at La Brea, Trinidad.Image
